About crochetwithpassion

I have been certified through the Craft Yarn Council both in teaching and Instructor. I also have been teaching people to crochet for over fifteen years. This is what I will be doing through this blog. In the Crochet Master Class there are 18 projects. Some of the projects will be familiar to me such as Hairpin Lace; Tunisian Crochet; Filet Crochet; Double Ended Crochet; painted Crochet; Aran Crochet and Irish Crochet. However there are several in the book that are new and have peaked my interest and that includes the following: Woven Crochet; Tapestry Crochet; Entrelac Crochet; Fashion Crochet; Tassels; Bullion Stitch; Overlay Crochet; Bead Crochet; Bruges Crochet; Free-form crochet and Wire Crochet. Since Crocheting is a time consuming craft I will only be posting once a week. If you are like me and love to crochet but would really like to challenge yourself to go beyond what you are now doing, come along with me and move to the next level. Although the actual patterns will not be posted (copyright law) I will take you through each project and go through the process of each one. This is not a blog about free crochet patterns or selling crochet tools. What I would like to do is take you with me on the journey through this book as I learn and crochet each of 18 projects. I will attempt to crochet each project in the book, and in the process recording in detail my progress and the problems I encounter along the way and the process I went through to accomplish each project. I am hoping that you will not only learn from my experience but that it will inspire you to push yourself to the next phase in your crocheting skills. Until next time; keep those hooks flying.

I use Red Heart for everything! I never have any qualms about using this yarn for afghans, clothing, home decor items. Afghans, hats and cowls are the most created items.

I really want to make a new purse. Also, some afghans for my children, especially the boys. The girls get lots of handmade things, it’s easy to sew and crochet for them, but the boys need some attention, too!

Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable is my favorite! I made a beautiful fringed cowl using the “Echo” colorway and I plan to make the same cowl in many of the other colors. Thanks to you and Red Heart for hosting this wonderful giveaway!

I have used Red Heart yarn since first learning to crochet in 1980. It’s always been my “go-to” yarn for nearly everything I’ve ever made. One of my most recent projects that I’ve done was 3 different crochet hook cases, all from the same pattern, and all using multiple colors of Red Heart.

My favorite types are the Super Savers and their newer “With Love” variety. I have noticed in the last few years the quality has greatly improved as well, and that the ‘regular’ skeins are now softer than they used to be! The prices are so reasonable that it makes it very affordable for me to get more than one than one skein at a time! Keep up the great work Red Heart!

  9. Philippa Smyth says:

I used red heart bells to make a shell stitch scarf. V pleased and it went a long way and so reasonably priced.

  10. Philippa Smyth says:

  11. We used to be able to get Red Heart here in SA many years ago, but I have not seen it around for a while. I still remember how wonderfully it knitted when my daughter was a baby. (25 years ago) I think it must be an awesome yarn. I specially love the colours, they are so very warm and vibrant.

  12. Laura Long says:

I use Red Heart almost exclusively. Excellent value.

  14. rebecca says:

  15. Ashley says:

I love the super saver! Since my sister told me she was expecting a baby I have used this to knit/crochet everything from a blanket to a cardigan with matching mitts and booties.

  16. Walescka says:
