Spring Classes

I know a lot of you are not in my area, but a few people has expressed an interest in the dates of my future classes.

In the Spring Classes I am offering three different Classes

Crocheting 101 (pictured above)

This is a great class for a novice or someone looking to improve their skill level.  Learn stitches such as chain, single, double, rib stitch, and triple.  Then move on to intermediate techniques including the basket weave, decreasing, increasing, the shell, working in rounds, and working from charts.  Students will learn crocheting abbreviations and the anatomy of the crochet hook.  Joining yarn, sewing squares together and weaving in the yarn ends will all be covered.  Students will take home a sampler afghan by the end of class.  Supply list will be mailed.

(12 sessions) Mondays, February 3 – April 2

                     6:00-8:00 PM    Cost:  $100.00

Aron Fisherman Crocheting (pictured above)

This is an advanced crocheting class for those who want to challenge themselves to the next level.  Fisherman knits are a wonderful traditional craft that originated centuries ago, in this class we are hoping to help this wonderful art form to live on.  Students will learn a variety of stitches including:  The Basket Stitch, Cables, Honeycomb, Knurl, Low and High Ridge, Diamond, Blackberry, ZigZag and Double Zigzag.  When finished, students will have a beautiful pillow.  Supply list will be mailed.

(8 Sessions) Saturdays, March 1 – April 19

10:00 – 12:00 -PM   Cost:  $80.00

Hairpin Lace (pictured above)

In one session students will make a beautiful bookmark while at the same time learning a new stitch in crocheting.  Must know the single and chain stitch to take this class.  Supply list will be mailed.

(1 session) Saturday, May 10

                 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM  Cost: 20

Crochet Along With Me

If you live in my area, I believe you would enjoy one of the classes.  For those of you who live to far away, I will posting lists of tutorials in the further.  I will be having my first free Crochet Along With Me in January. I have been certified through the Craft Yarn Council both in teaching and Instructor. I also have been teaching people to crochet for over fifteen years. This is what I will be doing through this blog. In the Crochet Master Class there are 18 projects. Some of the projects will be familiar to me such as Hairpin Lace; Tunisian Crochet; Filet Crochet; Double Ended Crochet; painted Crochet; Aran Crochet and Irish Crochet. However there are several in the book that are new and have peaked my interest and that includes the following: Woven Crochet; Tapestry Crochet; Entrelac Crochet; Fashion Crochet; Tassels; Bullion Stitch; Overlay Crochet; Bead Crochet; Bruges Crochet; Free-form crochet and Wire Crochet. Since Crocheting is a time consuming craft I will only be posting once a week. If you are like me and love to crochet but would really like to challenge yourself to go beyond what you are now doing, come along with me and move to the next level. Although the actual patterns will not be posted (copyright law) I will take you through each project and go through the process of each one. This is not a blog about free crochet patterns or selling crochet tools. What I would like to do is take you with me on the journey through this book as I learn and crochet each of 18 projects. I will attempt to crochet each project in the book, and in the process recording in detail my progress and the problems I encounter along the way and the process I went through to accomplish each project. I am hoping that you will not only learn from my experience but that it will inspire you to push yourself to the next phase in your crocheting skills. Until next time; keep those hooks flying.
